Abstract

The Uruk culture covered much of ancient Mesopotamia. Ancient Kurdistan had also been part of this culture.  For a long time, it controlled Kurdistan through it is commercial and administrative bases, but the local people had always protected their own culture. In addition, new discoveries of Iraqi Kurdistan archaeological sites give different information than those known about this culture in the south. This article discusses the spread and collapse of Uruk culture and highlights the most important sites that include the physical materials of it.
