Abstract

The interest in strange and exciting topics increased with the development of the Western press, particularly the American press, in order to attract readers and public opinion around them, and for this reason the Yazidis and their religious rituals occupied a large space in the American press between (1849-1935), and because of this religious strangeness and what they practiced. Exceptional religious rituals, ceremonies, and rituals - known as (Devil Worshiper) - piqued the interest of later travelers, missionaries, and politicians, particularly in the first decade of the twentieth century.

The Yazidi faith received extensive coverage in the American news, including its name, customs, social and religious peace, rites, and so on. The researcher attempted to use the descriptive method to demonstrate the western perspective of them. That the Yazidis are a religion with much older origins than Christianity and Islam, but due to contact with the religions of the region, some names and customs have mixed with their religion, and because they are the owners of a religion that involves itself, but their religious formation requires them to treat other religions humanely.
